Autumn is a useful point to review the whole season rather than treating the final inspections as isolated visits. Check that each colony has a clear recent record of queen status, brood condition, stores, colony strength and any management still outstanding.
Review equipment as well as bees. Record repairs, replacement floors or roofs, stored supers and any task that needs completing before conditions deteriorate. If feeding or another management process has a follow-up date, put that date into the action list rather than leaving it in free text.
