QR colony traceability

Every colony can carry its history with it.

HiveIQ Passport is the planned QR-linked identity for hives, nucs and colonies — giving the beekeeper full management access and allowing controlled history sharing when stock is sold.

The same QR for the beekeeper

When already authenticated, scanning can open the working colony record instead.

A permanent colony identity

A QR code can point to the same HiveIQ identity throughout the colony's life. The QR itself does not need to change every time an inspection, queen event or treatment is added.

One code, different audiences

An unauthenticated visitor can see a safe public page with managed-hive information, emergency contact details and an optional honey enquiry form. An authenticated beekeeper can scan the same code in Inspection Mode and open the live hive record.

Digital history when selling nucs

When a colony is sold, the seller can choose to make selected history available to the buyer: queen year and origin, inspection history, treatments, temperament, transfer date and other provenance information. Private apiary information remains hidden.

Splits, merges and ownership

HiveIQ is designed to keep lifecycle events explicit. A split creates new unique descendant colonies, while a merge preserves both histories and records which colony received the merge. Ownership transfers can later move the active colony record to another beekeeper without erasing its provenance.
