Dictation works best when you speak in a predictable order. Begin with the hive identity, then describe colony strength, queen evidence, brood stages, queen cells, stores, supers, temperament, health observations, management completed and actions for next time.
Use clear markers when moving between colonies. Say what you observed rather than what software might infer. For example, “queen not seen, eggs and small larvae present” preserves more useful information than simply saying “queenright”.
